'A Quiet Place: Day One' trailer reveals Lupita Nyong'o as star: Release date, cast

The first trailer for "A Quiet Place: Day One" has been released and it reveals the movie will star Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn.

The movie is the third in the "Quiet Place" horror franchise, which was launched in 2018 with the release of the original movie starring A-list Hollywood couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.

"A Quiet Place: Day One" is set to be a prequel to the first two films, which were both written and directed by Krasinski. The prequel is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Krasinski.

The second movie, "A Quiet Place Part II", was released in theaters in 2021 and starred Blunt alongside Cillian Murphy.

'A Quiet Place: Day One' trailer

Paramount Pictures released the trailer for the movie on Feb. 7.

The trailer opens with footage from the first two films before the screen goes dark and the subtitle "Day One" appears. The screen then cuts to Manhattan and we see Nyong'o navigating the streets when missiles strike and chaos ensues.

The trailer's video description on YouTube says the movie is scheduled to come out on Friday, June 28.

Nyong'o and Quinn are the only two actors featured prominently in the trailer.

According to the cast page on IMDB, Denis O'Hare, Djimon Hounsou and Alex Wolff are set to appear in the film.
