An all new reality show from CBS that puts contestants through a grueling physical journey with the chance to win some money will come to screens this month.
"The Summit" premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. It features 16 contestants traveling across the New Zealand mountains, with each person carrying an equal share of $1 million. Over the next 14 days, they must travel an "exhausting distance," according to CBS, in order to win the cash they're carrying.
None of the 16 contestants had any idea what kind of show they were signing up for, and many of them have no previous camping or climbing experience. As they are forced to work together, the contestants will face twists and decisions that will test their morals and relationships. If the group fails to reach the summit in time, all the prize money will be lost.
Guiding the contestants in decisions throughout the season is the show's host, or the "Mountain's Keeper," actor and New Zealand native Manu Bennett.
